Chris C. talks about LT

In an interview, Chris C. has given some details about the LT movie.
"Columbus has taken some liberties with the source material: Maybe not every sequence from the book is in the movie, but maybe he came up with some better ideas. "Just some of the creatures have been changed," Columbus said. "We have sort of a breathtaking hydra sequence that replaces a sequence that used to take place at the Seattle [St. Louis] Arch. Our version of Hades is a little different. There are other changes here and there. Camp Half-Blood is a lot more dangerous, a lot more serious than it was in the book."" -Sci-Fi Wire's Full Article
It looks like they are changing a few things... Have thoughts on it? Discuss it in the forum!

Lots of News---(LATE)

Sorry for they slow news, but I just got back from vacation, and the other "staffers" are missing! *YIKES!* Here is a ton of news that came out while we were gone.
--
Rick Riordan updated his "Contact" page, with more FAQ's and some other stuff. "The FAQ page is updated often to answer the questions people are most curious about, or to let you know which questions cannot be answered! When in doubt, start there." -Rick Riordan's Official Website
--
Rick updated his blog with news about US President Obama filling 15,000 backpacks for military families, and in each back back there was... A copy of The Lightning Thief. I hope this brings joy to all that receive the care packages.
--
As for PercyQuest news for those who read the entirety of this post, we are going to start adding on to pages soon. We may need some more staff, so keep your eyes out for openings. Keep it up on the forums, and all of the other pieces of PQ.

Rick has been twittering a lot lately, and one thing that caught my attention was his updates about question for new books. You can check everything out on his contact info. Also along with the known new PJO series coming out in Fall 2010, he has released info on a non-related book coming out in Spring 2010. We can only hope to know what that is soon!

Stephenie Meyer, author of the best selling Twilight Saga, commented on Rick Riordan and the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series on her website the other day. On June 4th, among a post about her deleting her myspace account, she writes:
"Hope you all are having a great summer so far! If you're looking for some beach reading, you might try Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series if you haven't already. My son finally finished book five yesterday so I could read it today. It was a fantastic end to a fantastic series. I tip my hat to you, Mr. Riordan!"

In other news, I finally came up with a good contest idea for the signed TLO book. I just need to wait for something before I can open the contest. Keep an eye open.
